Hello Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
I was recently at a beautiful gathering and I had the opportunity to share resources that have greatly supported me in the last several years, pointing me to Christ and growing my faith, trust, & hope in Jesus! They have been on my heart to share and I am thankful for the time, strength, and motivation to share them now on my blog. I hope you, reader, navigate the websites and open your heart and mind to the possibilities and encouragement these ministries can have on your walk with Christ, strengthening your faith, increasing your hope, and filling you with glimpses of peace that are only found in Christ Jesus.
God has strongly shown me how He uses all things for His Glory. I know that we are called to live on mission, all the time, and to be a light for Jesus. With these things in mind, constantly, when I watch, listen, see, read, hear, meet people… and the list goes on… I see it all as having a purpose and for God to use it to teach me, refine me, strengthen me, and to point to Him. On my walk with Jesus, I strongly believe God has faithfully and intentionally, allowed me to see/watch/hear/meet/read, etc, everything at it’s appointed time, strengthening my trust in Jesus and healing me tremendously along the journey!
Praise Jesus for His goodness and for the obedience of faith-filled followers of Jesus, truly being the hands and feet of Christ, our Lord & Savior, and sharing the gospel so graciously.
My Prayer
Lord God,
I ask for continued discernment, prayer, hope, and faith in the leadership and people that help facilitate and run these organizations and resources. I pray for continued glory, praise and honor are all pointed to you, in all the ways these resources encourage and support the community and all the people that come across them. May this blog help friends renew their hope and grow their faith in Jesus, just as these resources have greatly enhanced and transformed my walk with Christ. Thank you Lord for your faithful, loving kindness. In Jesus name, amen!
Ministries Pointing to Jesus
A) Testimonials (All globally accessible)
- Delafe Testimonies: I found the Delafe Testimonies’ Youtube a couple of years ago and the stories I heard changed my life. I like the shorts they post of people answering the question, “Who is Jesus to you?”; it’s very powerful and encouraging. There are testimonies from all walks of life and how Jesus changed their life!! Looking for encouragement, hope, and hearing lives transformed all because of Jesus? Check out Delafe Testimonies β€ Their mission is to be the largest archive of Jesus testimonies before Christ returns; beautiful and faith filled goal.
- I Am Second: It’s amazing to hear the stories of how people are living second, and putting Jesus first! I found this channel in the midst of seeking Jesus during my marriage and the Lord so kindly, showed me a testimony on I Am Second Youtube of a celebrity couple, Paul and Amy Hauser, that gave me hope and helped me to keep my eyes on Jesus, amongst all the uncertainty and unknowns in my marriage. I am so thankful for the testimonials shared so graciously on this channel and to see how Jesus has transformed people’s lives. I just found on their website, I Am Second films organized by topics; love it!
- Cross Roads Prison Ministries: I found this ministry while I was still married and reading about how we are to treat prisoners, Hebrews 13:3, and other things the Lord was showing me about those behind bars. Here is Cross Roads Prison Ministries Youtube π This has been one of the most impactful ministries on my walk with Christ. Here is a link to their story. They have a mentorship program to write letters to those in prison (like a pen-pal ministry teachings about the gospel) and I really wanted to become a mentor while married, but my situation didn’t allow; I hope in the future to get more involved in this ministry. It opened my eyes to those in jail and in prison in my local area in Oregon and Washington and how God loves everyone that’s been arrested and is behind bars and my heart wants everyone to know the power of Jesus Christ. The resources on the website are wonderful and if prison ministry and getting connected has been on your heart, I recommend checking out their website. I ordered the book, I See You: Remembering the Incarcerated Through a Living Letter, and read it and it opened my eyes to the power of a letter and the impact to write to those who are incarcerated. Be encouraged and uplifted as you explore their website and the impact this ministry has on people’s lives.
- God Behind Bars: This is a beautiful ministry β€ Here is the God Behind Bars Youtube; be encouraged and uplifted!
- Called Ministries Youtube: Sharing testimonies, music, and messages pointing to Jesus. Here is their main website too, cAlled Ministries (local to Portland, Oregon area).
B) Healing Resources (All globally accessible)
- Living Waters of Hope: This ministry restores hope and dignity to survivors of domestic abuse. They provide an online Oasis Bible Study, teaching women about abuse, providing a safe community, and guiding women with biblical truths about their true identity in Christ and gaining clarity in confusing, controlling relationships. I have attended all three Oasis Bible Study’s; the resources on the website, the books, email’s received, gaining knowledge about abuse and the truth of what God says, the zoom meetings and lessons, and the ladies I met who have similar stories to mine and understood my situation, empowered me to continue on my healing journey and learn there was and is hope from abuse, all found in Jesus Christ. I highly recommend this healing journey for anyone who is seeking healing, hope, and recovery from domestic abuse. If you are a survivor, a church leader who is looking for resources, or a friend or family member of someone experiencing abuse, check out Living Waters of Hope — they have so many helpful resources. I want to link all aspects of their website to share the various resources, but for now, I encourage you, if safe to do so, to check out their website and be encouraged with the resources you find.
- Mending the Soul: This ministry helps individuals heal from trauma and restores hope through healing. I heard about this ministry through my church and after moving away and God revealing to me the healing my heart needed, I ordered the Mending the Soul Book and Workbook and attempted to go through it alone. It was heavy to learn truths and in the midst of severe abuse and neglect, I realized I needed to do this study with a group, so I stopped reading and going through it. While I have yet to work through the book and workbook, as I know I need more time to heal from trauma before embarking on the longer, deeper journey in a safe group setting, I have completed a shorter length group, called, Explore (books); the Explore videos that go along with the study, brought me to many tears and brought me much healing. I recommend exploring the Mending the Soul Website and seeing the global missions, the healing resources (groups, books, study guides, webinars and more), various curriculums, podcast and their blog. Be encouraged by this resource, either for yourself or to share with a friend, who would benefit greatly from a support group (find a group), to find healing and hope found in Jesus Christ.
- Peace Makers Ministries, this is the website link. They also have an App to download for your phone called, “Peacemaker Ministries” and this ministry helped me to know my true identity in Christ, helped me to navigate conflict, view God’s promises, and other resources helping me navigate and heal. I highly recommend downloading the app and navigating it — it’s very well organized, pointing to scriptures, prayers, and journal prompts. It was a beautiful stepping stone and confirmation I needed to ground me in God’s truths and point to a new way of overcoming situations I was facing.
C) Legal Assistance (United States & local, in Portland, Oregon)
- Administer Justice: This is a beautiful ministry who empower vulnerable friends in the community, with the help of a lawyer and the hope of God’s love. They have numerous resources and encouragement on their website. If you or someone you know is looking for legal help, check out Administer Justice. Here is a link to AdministerJustice Founding Story; be encouraged! There is hope and help available!
- Find a Local Administer Justice for Help (within the United States)- Use this link to find a local Administer Justice in your area.
- Location in Portland, Oregon: New Hope Church : I utilized Administer Justice at the New Hope Church location during my divorce as a pro-se litigate, and I am so thankful to have only paid $30 to speak with with an attorney, kindly hearing my story; I was given advice for next steps in my court proceedings and it gave me strength to move forward, looking to Christ for hope.
D) Church Websites & Churches Helping People: Mostly local – Portland, Oregon & Surroundings areas — Love Inc (United States)
- Hope City Church, Beaverton Christian, New Hope Church, All City Church, and Willamette Christian: One church, in five locations; better together, and this link, that tells more about “better together” (watch the 13 minute video to learn more). I attend Hope City Church and I am so grateful for the community I have and all that growth I have made on my walk with Christ, because of the faithful obedience of the church leaders, volunteers, and the community of the “better together” community of churches. I have navigated and explored each of the churches websites and I am so grateful for the resources and opportunities provided. A few links I am so grateful for from Hope City Church include the care resources, and the media of sermons. I am grateful for the weekly services, the community groups I have attended, the caring support and friendship received, the tangible resources so kindly donated to me, the opportunity to volunteer, and the events the churches graciously puts on for the church and the community.
- Athey Creek: Athey Creek online, was a resource that helped me get to know the gospel and Christ, from about February 2023 to January 2024. I appreciated the knowledge of the pastor, the women’s ministry resources (teachings, podcast) and counseling I received. I like that you can search their sermons by topic and by book, and I gained great knowledge of the gospel, in context. Athey Creek was a foundational stepping stone in my walk with Christ.
- Love Inc. (United States): Their mission is to mobilize the local churches to transform lives and communities In the Name of Jesus Christ.
- Find a Love Inc. Near You – Search for a Love Inc. near you, to see the resources available to your specific area.
- Love Inc. of Clackamas County (Oregon) – They have provided resources in our time of need including: a caring person to talk to, weekly prayer calls, access to physical needs (toiletries, furniture, cleaning supplies, etc — items WIC, SNAP and other community resources did not provide or offer). E) Christian Counseling Resources (Global Access & local, near Portland, Oregon)
- MyCounselor.Online: Talk with faith-based counselors, remotely, online. I started my journey with mycounselor.online in Spring of 2024 for four months; meeting with a Christian counselor, in the midst of abuse and separation, was the care, consistency, and God-centered person I needed in my life. I hold my counseling sessions dear to my heart and I am so appreciative of what I learned and the healing I got from my counseling sessions, focused on Christ and His truths. I recently returned to mycounselor.online with another counselor in Spring of 2026, and I am so grateful to begin meeting with someone who I could share my faith and journey with freely, who understood my revelations and experience through the lens of the gospel, and to meet with someone who genuinely cares about me and my healing journey with Jesus. While I saw two other counselors (first one online, the second predominately in person) between the two from mycounselor.online, who provided a listening ear, support, suggestions, taught boundaries and perspectives through a lens of understanding domestic violence and abuse–providing guidance through my separation, divorce, court proceedings, and healing while I gained stability and worked through trauma (I am SO grateful and truly blessed for their support), it was challenging to be sharing my perspective, blessings, and goals through a biblical lens of the bible and following Christ, while they (like many secular counselors) hold a different faith belief or counsel from a world view. I am thankful that mycounselor.online exist and they provide counseling memberships with sessions that meet via Zoom; meeting via zoom has worked for my schedule and provided much flexibility. I am so grateful for this resource. If looking for a Christian counselor, I recommend exploring their website; they have info about each counselor to learn more about them and a virtual meeting to talk more about what you are looking for and to match you with a counselor. Here is the MyCounselor.Online Youtube, to learn more too.
- Christian Counseling Recommendations (for Portland, Oregon area): I have gone to all the websites for those listed on this recommendation list and I am grateful for the in-person, Christian counselors that exist and provide service in Portland and surrounding areas. May this list be an encouragement for you and if you feel led to, share it with other friends who may be in search for extra support and healing, with a Christian counselor.
F) Worship Music & TV (All global access, I believe)
- Worship 24/7 and World’s Biggest Small Group : I found the radio station, Worship 24/7, in the summer of 2024 after my husband and I separated. It’s been the only radio station I listen to since and it faithfully keepx my mind and heart focused on worshiping the Lord and pointing to Jesus. I am so thankful for the radio hosts, the bible verses shared, the go-deeper segments, and much more! In Portland, the station is 96.3. They have an app for your phone to download, so you can listen to Worship 24/7 from anywhere! They recently started The World’s Biggest Small Group and I have done a few of their studies and it’s helped me on my walk. I highly recommend Worship 24/7 β€ It’s been a life-line on my healing journey.
- Brave Books & Brave +: I joined the Brave Book Club for my son and I and I absolutely love it! We get access to their network, Brave +, as well as receive a new book every month. I appreciate that they started a series called, Kirk & Mr. Iggy; each episode will read one of the Brave Books at the end of the episode and in the episode, Iggy will learn a lesson similar to the one in the book. I so appreciate the topics of the Brave Books, as well at the map we got of Freedom Island and the stickers in each book. I like the options on Brave +, as well as shows teaching about Jesus. If you are looking for books & shows for your child pointing to honest qualities and truths, I highly recommend joining the Brave Book Club. My son and I always talk about being a brave warrior and we will refer to the characters and books; I am so grateful he LOVES to hear the stories, over and over! Can’t wait for our next book to arrive!
- Great American Pureflix: This is the only streaming platform (aside from Brave +) that I watch movies and shows from in my home and for enjoyment. I find the most peace, hope, and joy from everything I have watched and the Lord has truly used Pureflix for me to heal, learn lessons, and find rest! I walked away from secular TV, shows, series, music, movies, networks, etc in March of 2022, after I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and He gave me His eyes and ears. I am so thankful for my new life in Christ and the purity and wholeness my spirit has received after stepping away from the world’s platforms, networks and entertainment, and turning to Pureflix.

H) Christianity & Gospel Explained: Dive Deeper into Faith
- Life Over Coffee – The #1 website and resource that has convicted me the most and helped me grow deeply in my walk with Christ. The way the founder shares information in all it’s modes: written articles, through visuals, video and podcast — has greatly impacted me on my journey of healing, as well as being encouraged to write a blog and create a youtube sharing about Jesus! I will make future posts about Life Over Coffee and share some articles that have profoundly impacted how I show up daily in my walk as a Christian. I also love the founder, Rick Thomas, and his story and I am so grateful for the ministry he has created.

- Bible Hub: I like how I can look up specific verses on the website and be able to quickly read the same verse in different versions of the Bible.
- YouVersion Bible App: Daily bible verses, access to the bible in multiple versions, bible plans and more! I love the feature of having the bible be read to you out loud. I will listen to it while driving at times and it helps strengthen my walk with Christ.
Be blessed & encouraged my friends; God bless you all,
Jill
